What the Mandala Said…

Sometimes, I have crummy days. When I do, I try to find a way to go within – to connect with myself and uncover the truth of what is bothering me. Sometimes it’s easy. Sometimes it’s not. I do it anyway…

Today, I didn’t feel like doing anything at all, so I pulled out one of my Mandala colouring books and started scribbling away. It was hard. I found myself being careless, and even wanting to angrily destroy the page and throw it away.

I stayed with it. I started looking for the messages that were being communicated to me through the process of moving through my emotions and inner dialogue. All along the way to completion of the drawing, little insights came through.

Here’s what the mandala said:

Using the right tools makes a huge difference.

Sometimes, things don’t go as planned.

Rushing yields substandard results.

Some mistakes can be fixed – some can’t.

The problem is not always what you think it is.

Stay with the process.

It’s okay to get angry or frustrated – just don’t let it control you or get in your way. Imperfection won’t kill you.

It’s okay to make mistakes.

If you don’t like where you are headed, or how things are turning out – change something. Keep going – even if your hands shake.

A solid foundation leaves room for improvisation.

Sometimes, you need to break the rules.

Your vision may be different from others – both can be beautiful.

Don’t be afraid to do things differently.

Keep improving.

Patterns aren’t always what you think they are.
